USB connection for sound bar?

Will the sound bar work with a USB connecting it to the DIRECTV box? Old tv only has one HDMI port so I can't connect that way.

If the DTV box has left and right analog audio outputs and the soundbar has an aux input you just need a cable.
A converter might be needed if the outputs don't match. Can't say since we have no clue which DTV box or TV you have.
