How can I know wheather my usb ports are working or not.

The story went like this,
I was working on a project on arduino which is connected to my laptop usb pin(2.0). Unfortunately I short my circuit with a DC voltage of 12V. My arduino got burnt up and at the same time my lap suddeny switched off. When I restarted my lap, it went into BIOS mode and asked me to set time and date, then saved and exited. It took about 7mins to bootup. Then everything was normal except that the fact that two of my three usb pins are not working. One pin was the one to which I connected my arduino and the other was a USB3.0 pin on the otherside. At that time I got some burnt smell from the pin connected to arduino. I heard that modern laptops come with a safety feature of not taking in more than 100mamps of current. My laptop is still in 30 days return policy. I want to make sure wheather my usb pins are dead(if I need to change them should i need to change my motherboard) or they are just disabled(if so, how to enable them.)

Please help me out guys.

Check in the Bios to see if they were somehow disabled and also in the Device Manager (yellow flags). My guess is the dead short damaged the USB circuit, though.

No yellow flags in device manager. I tried checking in BIOS but I dont see any option for usb in my bios(UEFI).. Even tried to disable and enable in device manager but no luck
