USB vs 3.5mm with Headset

Hello,

I'm currently going to buy either the GSP 300 (3.5mm connectors) or the GSP 350 (USB connection) for my PC. My PC has a 7.1 integrated channel audio sound card. I would like to buy the GSP 300 since its £40 cheaper however will the mic clarity/sound be worse since my sound card isnt very good? Please give advice/suggestions. Thank you
