Use wireless keyboard with charter box

Friend ask how to connect a wireless keyboard to a Charter box to use guide change channels/volume. I think the best way to do it is with a raspberry pi, or transmitter, and key bind inputs to the keyboard. But idk how to set that up. And it has to be a keyboard for some reason
