I recently purchsed a lenovo y50 with 8 gb ram @1600 mhz, an i5-4200h, and nvidia gtx 860m 2gb. I tried to use it as my desktop replacement (desktop is long overdue for an upgrade) until I can afford to replace it. The problem is, when I have the laptop monitor and my asus monitor (asus main display laptop as extended display) on and on my laptop screen I am watching a movie but the main display I am playing a game there's really bad framerate. The laptop should have no issues maxing any of the games I was trying to play on the main monitor. Also, if I am only using 1 of the monitors with the other off completely there is absolutely no stutter or drop in framerate.

Is this normal? Or is there an easy fix?

Thanks

hello there the problem you are having is because your computer is not quite powerful enough to play a game on your main display while you are watching a movie on the laptop display the reason they give you a hdmi out or thunderbolt or vga is if you want to plug the laptop up to a bigger screen and use it that way only hope this helps
