Using USB earbuds and separate mic at the same time, Windows 8.1

So I have a Surface Pro 3 and am using a USB powered headset (no mic) to listen and transcribe. I would like to also use a mic to use Dragon at the same time. Possible? How?

Sure, just set the input device to the one you want to use.
