Verizon 4G LTE Phone Possibilities After Contract

Hey All,

I have an HTC One M7 on Verizon and I am wondering what I can do once my contract is up?

I would like to unlock the phone and use it on cheaper pre-paid networks. I'm just confused as to what my options are?

Would Wal-Mart's straight talk or similar networks be a possibility?

I am also wondering what is NOT possible (can't take the phone to CARRIER ABC because of XYZ...)

You could always go pre-paid and stay with VERIZON still.
