[citation][nom]alextheblue[/nom]Yeah cause you know, if you're using the 300mbit FiOS connection, you might want to keep your options open. Wait, what options?? Ooops might as well save the $5/month, you can donate it to charity or something! Unless of course you might want to switch back to DSL or Cable... hahaha! Yeah right! If you can afford 300mbit FiOS, cable and DSL are off the table, bro.[/citation]
yeah, hahaha huh? I think you are just trying to be the devil's advocate. the original OP has a very valid point. options aren't just about a faster service coming around. what if you lose that job that pays you enough to afford 205 bucks a month to burn? (ever heard of NASA employees?) what if said job, which would be highly likely of such a job paying soo much, tells you that you need to move far, far, far away? sure in such a scenario you might can afford the penalty but would you want to? and ok sure maybe Verizon would forgive that but you never know. also you might find most of the sites you use don't even take advantage of such internet so you are wasting to the 205 bucks. I will give you that someone who would pay for that most likely would try to make full use of it but there is always some dingaling and plenty of dumb people out there who might change their minds for whatever reason.
and there is probably other scenarios I'm not thinking of right this second. anyways the person has a valid point. 5 dollars is hardly incentive or a savings. I wonder what the early canceling penalty runs. If it isn't the just the $120 saving or less then I am with the posters saying not worth it. heck for that little of a montly savings the penalty shouldn't be anything more than the customer being charged the $5 for each month they used the service up to canceling. Or actually make it $50 cancel fee for anything 5 months and under and $50 + $5 per month for anyone over 5 months. Then Verizon would be providing a measure of incentive.
On a whole other note, kudos to Verizon for no data cap.
