The headset produces sound greatly, the LEDs light up, but the mic doesn't register my voice. Skype, Curse Voice, Steam Voice, and the computer itself detect the mic. Unless I am screaming or the mic is right in front of my mouth it won't pick up my voice. The Level is set to 100, there are not enhancements for me to apply. At this point I'm not sure what I am missing. Can anyone help me out here haha thank you!

You can double check your settings to make sure the mic is selected as the default for windows and all your software, but if that doesn't work out it's just another case of cheap chinese garbage not working.

If you need a replacement set, consider http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10980447&InitialSearch=yes&sts=pi, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/835951-REG/Sennheiser_PC330_PC_330_Gaming_Headset.html, or another set from well known audio brands. It's cheaper in the long run to buy a good headset that will last you for a decade than buying a new set every year.

I just went through this as i just bought a new G4000. The mic works but you have to scream into it. Just go to your recording device and go to the levels tab and there is a mic boost option, turn it all the way up. Then you can talk fairly normal and it will show on the input bars.
