Hey,

I recently got a HTC Vive, set it up and all worked well. Picking up the HDM after upgrading to the latest firmware I noticed a vertical blue line across the right edge of the screen, and a blue rectancles next to it:

I don't think I've bumped the HDM against anything and the pixels in the vertical line are flickering / not always visible so I am hoping this is a software issue. The issue is visible with games as well as using virtual desktop.

I have tried so far:

  • ■ Rebooting HDM / SteamVR
    ■ Rebooting the PC
    ■ Switching to beta branch
    ■ Using different USB port
    ■ Uninstalling / reinstalling all Vive software
    ■ Unplugging everything and leaving it overnight
    ■ Resetting the HDM (holding the HDM button for 15 seconds while plugging it in)

I already contacted Vive support to check whether I can RMA the headset, but would be really grateful for any other pointers.

Thanks, Phil

Only other thing I can think of, is update your video card drivers to the latest (or best for VR.)

Other than that, I would say if you had another PC you can plug the set into and see if the problem is reproduced with different HW.
