Video distribution system

Hi, I couldnt think of anywhere else to post.

Has anyone ever built a system like the ones that are normally present in waiting rooms. Like when i goto the doctor and sitting in the waiting area, there is a TV which is showing a TV channel, and at the same time running some ads and weather, all at the same time. The tv screen is devided into zones and each zone is running its own thing.

I would like to make something similar for my office, but i'm having hell of a time trying to figure out how to go about doing this. I'm thinking of about 6 Tvs, they can all be showing samething at the same time or different things, doesnt really matter.

any advise will be appreciated.

the channel that runs ads is from the cable tv company
you need a character generator

but my system doesn't have to run cable or any outside channels. Just run some information about the company in a loop, like power point presentation etc, but a little split screen would be nice i can throw in weather.
