Video Editing Software?

I need a cheap/free video editing software ? I currently have an happauge gaming edition DVR but the software is terrible and unexplainable. Please provide simple software solutions as I'm an unexperienced editor.
I mainly use my DVR for game play recording.

Windows Live Movie Maker is free and really easy to use. If you want paid solution, you may try with Sony Vegas. As for interface, video editing programs are much alike - they all have "timeline" where you drag your clips and add effects and sound tracks. Therefore do not be scared away - you don't need too much experience for basic things. But it all depends though how much complexity you expect from the software.

You could also consider Adobe Premiere Elements or Corel VideoStudio. VideoStudio may be the least expensive of those two options. I second what GregCH said about Windows Live Movie Maker. It is free and very easy to use.
