Virus wont let me access any antivirus programs, windows defender cant detect much

So recently I downloaded a rather malware bloated torrent and now I cant open up any antivirus program, it just says, "the requested resource is in use". I tried safe mode boot and rkill and both dont do anything in terms of being able to disable the virus, also before you say windows defender full scan it could only find 1 trojan in a full scan. Which was rundas.a, also I have something called "vmxclient.exe" which is using up about 40% of my cpu.
help?

This is when you fall back to one of two options:

1. Create a bootable AV solution. Kaspersky, possibly.
Boot from that and see if it will kill off this virus. Prevent the virus from starting up.
or
2. Recover from the backup you made the night before you allowed the system to get infected.

You can try getting a linux live boot from USB and do a scan from linux.
As far as nasty viruses go its always best to do a low level HDD erase with dban at dban.org and reinstalling windows.

I've had the virus for a couple days, how do bootable antivirus solutions work? Do you just download the program and boot off USB?

As USAFRet suggested ideally you want to create the Kasp rescue disk from a clean computer. Also you didnt say if youre on a laptop or desktop...if a laptop id suggest pulling the battery before inserting the rescue disk...if on a desktop unplug the computer from the wall socket for a min or so before running the disk. Removing the power before running the rescue disk will make sure the virus/trojan is not staying resident in system memory.

Second the notion of a boot-time scan -- disconnect the computer from the net, run the boot-time scan -- do that twice to see if that can clean up the infection. Just make sure you isolate the machine from your network/attached devices. The safest thing to do once infected is wipe and restore from backups, but this may allow you to recover files/etc. before that (be absolutely sure that infection is cleared from these files before transporting elsewhere, however)
