i have a vizio d32h-d1 tv with universal remote that turns it on and off only .tv has only power button which i can get the top menu consisting of comp ,hdmi 1 and 2 boxes by holding power button and moving up down right or left but cant get it register or move a no signal box shows on screen.but i cant get any other menu manually or with universal remote how do i get tv on this tv please help i am just hooking up a coax cable type anntenna for channels but i cant get this thing t do anything

Your "universal remote" isn't.
Either get an original replacement remote or a Logitech Harmony remote. They have a huge online database of IR codes and have all the commands for each device. In some cases they actually have additional commands.
