Vizio SB4051-D5 sound bar hookup

Having trouble hooking up sound bar, cable box, TV and DVD player. Have great sound with TV cable but get double sound when trying to play DVD. Using HDMI cables in different configurations with no luck....Help?

Can't give you an exact answer without makes and model numbers of all your equipment.
No sure what you mean by double sound?
Does that mean that your DVD player is a home theater system with DVD built in? If you turn the volume of the HTS down then you won't get sound out of the soundbar and HTS at the same time.
In general you would connect the DVD HTS and cable box to the TV with HDMI. Connect the TV audio output (usually optical) to the soundbar. You may have to turn the optical output on, the TV speakers off and change the audio output type in the TV menu.
If the soundbar sounds better to you than the HTS you would only be using that as a disc player.

What I mean by double sound is that when playing the Samsung DVD player, I get both the TV audio, whatever channel it's on, plus the DVD sound. The DVD sound is coming out of the TV and the TV sound is coming out of the sound bar. I'll try it your way with no HDMI to the sound bar from any of the devices.
HDMI from both cable box and DVD Blue-ray player to TV and digital optical from sound bar to TV......correct?

Bingo, bango, bongo.....hooked it up like you said and voala, got the correct sounds coming out of the correct device
