Volume increases by its self

I own a Pioneer vsx831 av reciever today I turned it on and the volume started to go up on its own. I turn it down but it started to go up again . The solution I found to stop the issue was by blocking the ir sensor. This is a temp fix obviously. I was wondering if anyone else has ever ran into or heard of this issue and now a fix

There is some external IR source which is causing the remote to trigger....Moving the sensor to another location usually solves the problem.
