Solved! Volume sliding knob malfunctioning

Hello,
The in-built speaker of my hp laptop is not working because the reason is the volume sliding knob (in the adjust audio properties box) of the speaker is malfunctioning. When i drag it to right it returns back left at once at the lowest position immediately. Can anyone help me to resolve this problem with my laptop's speaker?

Try the Fn button and the F key with the little speaker on it.
Some Laptops actuall have a volume control wheel that will adjust volume as well.
Double click on the slider/ or right click it, when window opens adjust that slider.
