Volume to TV from HDMI

Ok, I plug my HDMI cable into my computer and seems fine but whenever I watch a video or listen to audio the sound comes out of my computer instead of the TV like it's supposed to. How do I fix this? It's not detecting any other audio device other than my computer.

The video adapter should have HDMI audio settings - you need to check your video drivers to make sure they are the most current for your card, and make sure to enable HDMI audio.

If you use Windows make sure the HDMI audio is set as the default sound device when HDMI is connected. On every computers I've seen it's always automatic, when you plug HDMI it also becomes the default audio device. As suggested by ronintexas, maybe you didn't install the correct driver for your GPU or maybe you disabled the HDMI audio device.

I am also having this problem and i am not seeing the option for the HDMI to adjust the settings to get the volume on the tv.
