W300 for Scuba

When set to 'underwater' mode the ISO is forced to 100, resulting in 1/30 sec shutter speeds with reasonably bright underwater lights. Does anyone have a work around for this?

I suggest you ask on a diving forum. This is mostly a computer forum with a small cross section of people that include that are also photographers. I am quite sure it also includes scuba divers. However the group that is both a photographer and a scuba driver is likely very small... the ones using your camera? Maybe none. I do know this much about your camera though. It is not rated for saltwater.
