Wagon Train season 3

Bought the complete wagon train season 3 from Walmart put one of the disc in my DVD player but want play it just sets there after ten minutes it will say disc error like it is trying to read the disc but don't but it's has a purple backing never seen a disc this way can anyone give me any advice is to what could be the problem any thing would be greatly appreciated

I've had issues like that before, try washing the problem disk with Dawn and drying it off before trying it again.
