Is there something I can buy like a converter or adapter that can change my home stereo's auxiliary input to an auxilliary output ? I am trying to connect a portable speaker to my stereo, but they both have auxilliary inputs .
Thank you for your suggestion about the y cable, but unfortunately my stereo doesn't have rca jacks, it's a newer model. It only has an audio line in jack (aux.), a headphone jack, and a usb port. If you know of another solution I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
The jacks are not relevant. You can't make an input into an output. You could connect a speaker to line level to converter like this: http/www.crutchfield.com/p_142LOC80/Scosche-LOC80.html
to the wires going to the existing speakers in the stereo and connect the external ones to it. If you want just the external speakers to play disconnect the wires from the internal speakers.
