Wanting to block outgoing calls

I just spoke to verizon & they are telling me I can block a number from coming in BUT I can not block the number going out.
Many forums are saying this can be done by Verizon? My question is who
Is right?

Are you trying to block your caller ID, or are you trying to actually prevent an outside number from being called?

For those in 'forums' who say it can be done, ask them how, specifically.

I am actually wanting a number blocked so no one can call it. I blocked it from coming in, however I don't want anyone calling that number on my cell
