Greetings All:
Writing as a longtime visitor to the site. Earned a Microsoft certification in 1999 and worked as network administrator. Attended university for molecular biology and worked in that field as well.
Considering a current certification ...

Have a friend with a phone asking for guidance about a UMX phone and would hope to post this day.

Much thanks for your attention

Respectfully,

Hi guys

If you've been around for a while, you've probably seen me.
If you're new, you will see me.

-------------------
There are no stupid questions.
You may not get the answer you want, but you WILL get the correct answer.
Thank you in advance, for the correct answers you're certain to give in the near future. I just came back from the optometrist today, and he said I was developing cataracts. Since I don't go out in the sun much, could my excessive cell phone use produce enough radiation, to cause cataracts?

Thanks for the welcome.
I am a Senior Citizen, but take active part in Content Writing for web and like to take active part in discussions on most technical matters, as I believe, small mistakes or ignorance causes most issues.
In the past I solved many problems that specialized engineers and programmers could not solve.

Hi, My first computer was a Sinclair. Small rubber keys, data upload/save was to a remote cassette tape and you had to write everything yourself in Basic. I have both Andriod and Apple ISOs. I'm retired. For a time I managed the service and support department for an international computer company. I had a close working relationship with both R&D and Tech Support. I learned the inside and outside of a PC. Computers are one of my hobbies. A PC is a 'he' because its logical. My sewing machine is a 'she' because it has a mind of its owns sometimes.

Greetings everyone, first of all I am Blind and I use the computer with the aid of specialised audible assistive software but I will NEVER allow my disability to overpower my ABILITIES.
I use the computer with the aid of NVDA - Non-Visual Desktop Application which makes the computer read everything on screen and echo everything I type - these Screen Reading programmes can be quite expensive but NVDA is free so I challenge you to download and install NVDA then TURN OFF YOUR MONITOR. I use the same QWERTY keyboard as you except unlike you I cannot glance down and check which keys I press. Now then see if you can use the computer like I do EARS ONLY this can also be used as an excellent Proof Reading tool.

If any of you would like any help with Computing for the Blind please just ask

Oh, hi. I only joined because I recently purchased a new laptop. And not even after 24 hours of obtaining it. The things straight up <<Edited>> itself. So I’m trying to browse around for a similar problem from the model in case it was something I did. Or I was sold a dud. I’m also having issues trying to post a question, can you please help me?

Welcome to The Tom’s Guide Community!

We are the premiere venue of discussion for all types of tech experts and enthusiasts. We’ve set up this introductions thread so our users can get to know each other a little more.

If you’ve just registered to the site, please take a moment to introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself.

If you’re a long-time veteran of Tom’s Guide, we also encourage you to re-introduce yourself for those who might be lurking about the site.

I’ll go first: I’m Josh, one of two Assistant Community Managers for Tom’s Guide. I'm currently at level 7 live in Gloomhaven, and a hobbyist game designer in my spare time. I'm obsessed with tech and have been building PCs since middle school (don't even think about trying to date me).

P.S.S. Josh: Back at-cha. I'm not into dating games. Those days are long-gone, long-passed and finished for me.
Also, how does this platform work for members?
Does this "platform-toms guide tech support" help with questions I may have regarding tech support?

I love learning...and it has been my experience that this forum is by far one of the best , most useful resources to have in your arsenal. My hobbies are computers (🤔 kinda goes without saying) and movies, tv shows, and IRC. Glad to be here!

Hello. My name is Joe and I’m new to the group. I’m an Apple user and enjoy putzing around trying to fix things I am interested in. No Cars. They should just work!
I look forward to helping where I can and learning from the group.
