Have you thought about just getting a camcorder instead of a camera are you planing to mostly use it for video ? Camcorder are cheaper and better suited for Video also the a3000 has a video limitation of 30min (maybe 29).
The a5100 have the same "issue" with video length and there are reports of the sony a5100 overheating in 12-15 minutes depending on what recording settings you are using. Again it maybe better to buy a good camcorder unless your shooting/recording clips less than 10m in length.
camcorders aren't as good as slrs for videos
For example, can you perfectly handle focus on a camcorder?
Can you set a custom color profile for color correction?
drop a link,and I'll see the specs
From my personal experience, I felt that Canon offers the best for video whether it be any models. Sony and Kodak are good for still photography and modelling photo shoots. This is what I have felt.

I will say if you can get a canon t5i you can get an addon called "magic latern" that adds a lot of features to certain canon camera. You should also on Canon website for refurbish deals they have the same warrentee as new and starting next month they will start having holiday sales.
If you have no doubt about limitations of DSLRs then you may try Canon 100D (in some countries it can have another index). This is a good starting DSLR for videos, and it has a full set of manual modes.
