What could cause some mac keys to type wrong symbols_

I upgraded my Mac OS X to 10.6.8 and now some keys type incorrect
symbols!

Can you give some EXAMPLES?

It's possible you simply have one of your keyboard keys toggled incorrectly, or there could be a LANGUAGE setting issue (set to French or something).

One reader suggested it might be a language issue. It was!! My computer was set
to Spanish!

Also,
There's a KEY COMBO that can toggle between the languages which are enabled. If you have ONLY ONE enabled that should not be an issue. (that's based on Windows, but it seems logical that this is the same.)
