What do I need to use a 7.1 headset?

Recently my headset stopped working some how and I've been looking at some other headsets that I can use. I've looked at some 7.1 headsets, but I'm not sure if I can use them with my rig.

I have an Asus B85M-E. Not sure if any other information is needed, but just ask if I need to provide more info.

EDIT: In particular, I looked at the Razer Tiamat 7.1. I heard that it needed a special sound card? What do I need to use that?

As long as you have USB and a headphone jack, I don't see what else you would need.

But, you can buy some headsets that have USB powered soundcards built into them, like Turtle Beaches.

Here is one I found, still a Razor headset. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153051
But it doesn't seem to have good reviews.
