What does it mean when display driver stops responding?

Hello,
Whenever i go on msn and switch on the video call my laptop freezez and says that display driver has stopped respondind what does this mean? and how can i fix it?

I don't know what "video call" means but a quick trip to Windows Update may find something your system needs.
