What does verizon do with phones that are returned? Most importantly do they loo

Most importantly do they look through your messages and contacts? Do they clear my contacts? As well as pictures? i returned it because it had water damage and the screen didn't turn on.

Call them and ask, they proably wipe it but who knows when.
