Question what is download mode?

While trying to bypass google frp on a nokia 3.1 c I accidentally put the phone in download mode. can that help me bypass frp? I've tried the language to youtube method but before i get to youtube it says i have to update youtube which brings me right back to google frp. It seems everything i try i end up at a web page popup which prevents me from surfing the web. I can't just type in a website like i need to.
