what is the best os for a laptop

'best' depends on what you want to use it for.

I personally like Arch Linux for a couple reasons
1) Its lightweight
2) Uses only 64MB of ram(without the gui installed compared to Win8 which uses 2048MB of RAM which is not good when you only have 2GB of ram)
3) Its Linux

However, if your new to Linux it might not be the best for you. Ubuntu or Debian are probably your best bet if your new to linux as there are a lot of documentation on those os.

I have liked using Ubuntu every now and then for awhile. I will check out the ones you mentioned.
What do you think best Linux is for games?

Sadly there aren't many games for linux. You would need windows in order to play the majority of games.

There are programs for linux that has Windows API and can run most windows games on linux but at that point, just use windows for gaming.

Since i got 8.1 i have not touched Ubuntu much, just so sleek.
