hello

so, i'm planning to build a simple wooden box, and drill holes into each side so i can install speakers into it.

i was disassembling one of my old home theater speakers to see how the connection will work. and i noticed that the speaker had 2 metal prongs for power and audio, and the wire for the 2 metal prongs had connectors on both ends and the speaker terminal had the same metal prongs

what is that hook up wire called?

Solution
It's not a special wire. It's just a wire(s) with quick slide connectors on them. You can find them at most places that sell electrical equipment. Home Depot probably carries them too. I don't know if audio equipment has a standard size, so you'll have to check that before buying. You'll need a crimping tool as well to crimp them to the wire.

Solution
those are standard terminal ends, the push together type. lowes, home depot, any hardware store should carry them in various sizes as they are as common as dirt.
