What specs should I choose?

I really don't know much of computer, I need a laptop that can run any architectural program or 3D program. I'm an architecture student.

So far I've been told I need 8 of RAM and as much of video as I can get. I want a killer laptop, full packed.

Can you help me choose the specs?
Let me tell you that I'm not so thrill about the looks and weight of the laptop on the link, but if it's the best I can get, then fine.

sager makes some very decent notebooks. If you want a super killer laptop then just pick all the most expensive options but seriously is there a budget you have in mind because the base system is quite capable.

It's a Lenovo laptop, between this lenovo and the sager laptop wich one is the best?

spec wise the sager is better, but I think the lenovo is a better value. my wife has that laptop and she loves it except the resolution is 1368x768, which if you're using it for design you may want the 1920x1080 of the sager... also the base specs of the sager are quite nice without the upgrades I suggested... you just have to weigh the values of the systems. Sager is better but are you willing to spend the extra 400 bucks for the sager also fyi the vid card options are better on the sager (even the base one) and the 6990M is SLI in a laptop which is beast...

also, the sager laptop is 1444 total with just the 6990 upgrade because it kicks in the additional 100 off for going over 1500

this one looks nice! 12 GB Memory and still a 15.6" and the price it's great too. Just that I've never heard of the brand, but the reviews are good.

How are you here and have never heard of MSI? But the 12GB of ram isn't needed and you can get some ASUS just as good for $1200 except 8gb memory.

Sorry if I didn't made my self clear, what I meant it's that I've never heard of the brand MSI before, and like I really don't know much about computers I started to read as much reviews as I could about all the options that you guys have been son nice to point at me. In the reviews the MSI seems pretty cool, but if you say the ASUS its better, well you know more that I do haha.

So basically it's not up to RAM memory but to video card??
And between the ASUS and the SAGER?

ASUS has the best support and one year accidental damage replacement. A 6990m is more powerful but I don't believe you need that. A 560m should be more than capable to do what you need though. Its both the RAM and video card. Don't think you will ever come close to using 12GB of ram though. 8 would be more than enough. Save the $200 and go with the ASUS.

though asus does make nice equipment so I can't really knock them either... except I have heard horror stories about the support... I would suggest going the best buy route for an Asus as you can return it to the store if there is a problem...

^^ reviews for the same model a step down (same chassis less ram and slower proc but the rest is the same..) 20% of the reviews are 1 egg because of defects / issues with customer service.... you may find the same issues with sager, but do your homework.

You can't upgrade video cards in laptops so what it comes down to if if you want to step down to a 555m.

Its a 17.3 inch because what he used it for is cad programs. He is going into the same field as his dad and his dad has a 15.6 inch laptop and regrets it. So my friend bought this, apparently helps make work easier.

I choose it because the specs seems great, it's not toooo heavy, it has a nice look, the price it´s really really good; so let's hope for the best.
