After you do all the required preparations for setting up your HTC Vive, and your PC is still not recognizing your device then is most likely that you have some kind of problem. In the most cases this problem is because of some issue with the port for USB or device drivers.This tutorial will guide you how to solve the possible problems with your PC while trying to make a connection with your HTC Vive. If this error happens to you than this are the steps that will lead you to the solution:
if you see this error after taking the required steps, than do all of this again. Also try to plug in the USB cable into different USB port on your PC.
■ First make sure you have closed all Steam applications you have opened on your PC, here is included also the SteamVR application.
■ Disconnect the cables from the link box from your PC ( USB and HDMI). Also unplug the power cable from an electric outlet.
■ After you do the previous steps, wait for a little bit and then you can plug in back the cables.
■ You will see on your computer notification that says that the drivers are being installed. All you need to do is wait for the installation to be over.
■ Restart the SteamVR application.
