hi i just need a good advice or two:

I am an in a situation where i have to buy a new pair of headphones for gaming primarily
and I am considering buying a couple of good headphones instead of a real gaming headset
my main thought is to get a good and solid pair and also get anamp / dac to connect my headphones with so they work optimally.
I have heard that gaming headsets cost too much compared to what they can so instead i wanna buy some good headphones (not cheapere ik) my budget is around 900 maks to spend but rather holding it to 400-600 all in
the main reason for me getting a pair of headphones instead of headset is that i really wanna improve the sound espeacial when talking about footsteps.

right now I'm considering these things

headphones

a sennheiser hd 660s
https://www.amazon.de/Sennheiser-HD-660S-Audiophiler-dynamischer-schwarz/dp/B076NWQXPS/ref=sr_1_2?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&keywords=sennheiser+hd660s&qid=1562089967&s=ce-de&sr=1-2

other pair of headphones
beyerdynamic dt 990 pro 600 or 250 ohms

https://www.4sound.dk/dj/tilbehoer/headphones/beyerdynamic-dt-990-pro-250-ohm

amp / dacs

jdslabs objective2 + ODAC Combo (dac and amp)

https://www.amazon.de/jdslabs-objective2-Kopfhörer-nwavguy-Modell/dp/B00EJ9405O/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&keywords=OBJECTIVE2+ODAC+COMBO+REV+B&qid=1562089989&s=ce-de&sr=1-1-fkmr0 https://www.amazon.de [...]

or

Mayflower ARC DAC / Amp

If you are not going to be using these for good quality music listening, it's not really best to spend more than 100,150 for headphones or a headset. You won't really get any better spacial audio. I like the Steelseries Arctis line, 5,7, Pro, all have good surround functions for games.

With an amp: Massdrop X AKG K7XX or the AKG K712 Pro.

Without an amp: Sennheiser HD 599. The 660S is probably better with position but the soundstage is better on the 599.

Massdrop has their own O2/SDAC and not only does the SDAC measure better than the ODAC but it's quite a bit cheaper than a JDS Labs or a Mayflower O2.

In fact they just started an EU specific warehouse for easier shipping to Europe. They have the K7XX. Prices include VAT.

Okay, i am also looking for buying a cheap condenser mic from amazon which i am not quit sure how I am supposed to connect with my setup? Do you have any idear if there is and good amp/dac which have a 3,5 mm mic input? I have been thinking to get the mayflower arc but they aren’t selling those in the eu unfortunately so therefore I looked at the sound blaster x7 which I am not sure how good it is. I have been reading that it has a lot of software problems with the mic input and it’s own little mic?

Btw what about the dt 1990 pro? I have been seen a lot of reviews of it where they state it’s good for gaming? (Don’t worrie about the price i am willing to spend the amount it cost to get some of the best but my budget says like most 400 euro for a pair of headphones and 300 for an dac/amp ?

Okay, but I wanna spent the amount of money it cost to just get a good pair of headphones so price doesn’t matter too much. It’s just that the headphones don’t cost more than 400 eur and the dac/ amp doesn’t go over 300

I don't know about the DT1990 for gaming. Imaging and soundstage aren't usually mentioned as their strong points and I haven't heard them. I find the Beyerdynamic mid-fi line, the 770s, 880s and especially the 990s too bright.

Just get a good soundcard. I have a Xonar Essence STX and it's every bit as 'good' as my O2.

They make an STX II now. It will drive any headphones you'd buy with ease.

If I was buying with your budget just for gaming it would probably be an AKG K712 Pro and the STX II. Soundstage and imaging are excellent and the card gives multiple modes including Dolby headphone for virtual 7.1 surround.

Okay, if I also want a dac for cleaner sound how would I fit it into a setup with and intern sound card?
