I did the pros and cons of tablets vs. price and I decided that iPad is just too expensive for a tween. So, what's the best tablet for surfing the web, light gaming, homework help and just for using on the go. Thanks for your input!

Hands down Microsoft Surface other tablets don't even compare:

Alright the reason behind why this is the best tablet for the money:

Starts at $350(kind of a high price but if you buy a android of the same quality it will run around the same)
-Windows 8 Operating System(not fond of windows 8 but is cool as heck on a tablet)
-It has a built in kickstand so if you want to set it on a desk or table you dont have to prop it up with somthing.
-You can purchase a flat keyboard that just magnetically connects to the bottom of the tablet and can fold up over the screen like a screen protector if you chose to(also handy for when you want to take the keyboard with you).
-Unlike ANY Android or IPAD, the microsoft tablet has a FULL SIZED USB port that you can plug and play to put/take photos videos music programs ect. on and off your tablet (this is what sold me to this surface since no other tablet does this.
-You can run your programs side by side insted of only being able to run one program at a time.
-VaporMg™ casing which is very durable yet light.
-Micro SD card support up to 64GB of extra storage
-Quad core tegra 3 processor super fast
-Solid state hard drive
-Two 720p HD cameras, front and rear-facing

Its endless why its the best tablet for the money nothing else compares check it out you wont be disapointed:

The biggest downside to the Surface RT? You're limited to a stripped down version of Windows called RT that cannot run x86 applications, and you're limited to Internet Explorer. That means no Photoshop, no Firefox (and no ad block), no iTunes, and the video applications are very frustrating to be able to run. Plus the keyboard is like typing on a piece of cardboard. It looks great on paper but the lack of a full version of Windows kills the device for me. The Surface Pro is a far better bet but it's twice the price. If you want apps nothing compares to iOS or Android, and you can even get a refurbished iPad for a significant savings over a new one: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipad

If you want a full Windows 8 tablet, both Dell and Toshiba are building 8" tablets that are about the size of a Nexus 7 for around the ~$330 range that come pre loaded with full Windows 8.1 32 bit: http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/19/campaigns/dell-venue-tablets-dhs-us?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn
