Hello guys,
Been watching a few movies lately and I am obsessed with having the most sharped looking video everytime.
Back in the day, I only cared about the screen resolution. Whenever I see 1080p I automatically presume that it would be a great quality movie. However, I once noticed two different 1080p versions of the same movie. one is 5 times bigger in size even though they share the same resolution. As I got into details to see what differs between the two versions I came up to the conclusion that one of them had 10000kb/s bitrate while the other had 2500kb/s .
Now I've seen a video on youtube showing the difference between high and low bitrate with same resolution and I gotta tell ya. the low bitrate one is really ugly and blurry especially when there is a lot of movement in the video.
Anyways, Straight to the question. I would like to know what is the minimum bitrate for 1080p . knowing that I use a 55inch full hd screen..
In other words. If I play a movie with 2500kb/s or 3000kb/s would it look ugly on my screen? If not then what is the limit bitrate that I should take into consideration that would guarantee me a sharp looking video for a 1080p resolution.
Thank in advance

Solution
The optimal minimum is 8000kbps for 60fps, 5000 for 30fps. Getting higher bitrate than 30000kbps will not be noticable at 1080p going for 20000 will have garunteened good quality.

Thank you for your reply. I imagine at 24fps I should consider a minimum of 4000kb/s
