Whats the problem with the bios

am trying to install windows 7 on my acer aspire 1830 but keeps giving the error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks' controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu"....PLEASE HELP

What other OS did you install on it? Try deleting all other partitions on the disk either via the partition manager in the W7 install CD manually, or using a boot disk.

i have already done that..... but still no change
