when i type in my password the screen just says welcome and takes forever to load

lately my pc has been laggy opening tabs and when i recently turned on my pc i typed in my password and it just says welcome with the loading swirl and takes forever and wont let me in
my pc is a asus laptop HELP

you may have a virus or malware. try running a scanner for both. also look for an programs you recently installed may have a new background task which will slow your ompuger up
