As per title I keep getting Yahoo search results.
I have no Yahoo tool bar/extensions installed.
I have used the Chrome clear thinghy program.
I have removed any other form of search engine other than google.

Is it a virus?

I'm on the verge of formatting my computer.

Any help will be useful.

Have you enabled google as the main search engine ? Typically in settings within chrome.

Yes I've put google as my main search engine and have removed all others from the settings.

What you could try doing is reinstalling chrome. Assuming you are in windows 10, search for "add or remove programs" in the taskbar (although most time just typing add, Cortana will notice). Then find google chrome, remove the program, and it should be uninstalled. Then you can use Microsoft edge or another browser for now to install it again. It should be completely fresh, as any cookies and web browser data (and history) will be gone. If you have another OS, the process should be similar. You shouldn't lose any data on the pc itself.

same problem when i do with firefrox quantum i set goggle as default even with search with google bar help assist it redirect me to yahoo

but dont panic and go reformatting. its not virus and not that dead serious of a problem.ots more like an browser hjack tracker redirect your desire search provider to others providers to generate more trafices /views/results to their sites that only deal with bowers whenever you search

again im stressing you dont need to reformat your whole computer just to get ride of this problem
