Alright so excuse my noobishness. I haven't delved deeply into the mp3 player market in a long time and I'm looking to get a new one. However, it seems like all the player that people rave about (D2 etc.) are multi-purpose gadgets that play video and radio, and all sorts of other more gimmicky things. And when I go to the stores it's either stuff like that or cheap junk with lousy audio. Where can I find something simple with quality audio?

I'm looking for something that just plays music, has outstanding audio quality and isn't expensive. A little LCD with a nice menu is fine, but I don't need a lot of extra junk driving the price up. Just quality audio. Anywhere from 4-30GB would work size-wise.

your best bet is to try to find a flash based players, those are your best bet unless you go with something rather more niche and get a MD player.

A sansa clip would be your best bet. they are only 4gb flash, but they have excellent sound, and a nice little lcd. check one out.
