Where is the manual on/off button on a Panasonic Plasma TV?

Over the last few weeks my Panasonic Plasma TV has been harder and harder to switch on using the remote. Now it won't switch on at all. The red light is steady but won't go green? Does this sound like a fault in the TV or could it be the remote - I have, of course, changed the batteries. I can't find the manual on/off switch - is it cunningly hidden or non-existent?

Without the model number all I can suggest if you can't find the switch is to google for the owners manual.
