which computer is better for schoolwork

Solution
The Dell laptop is a pretty basic laptop and if all you need to do is schoolwork on it and use the internet, then it should suffice.

The Dell Inspiron 14 3000 has the same CPU as the HP Stream 11 so performance should be very close. The link below demonstrates the performance of the HP Stream 11; skip to about 3:00 into the video. An additional link is provided for an update on playing Minecraft.

If $360 + tax is within your budget, then I highly recommend you purchase the Lenovo G50-80 laptop which is currently on sale. It comes with a Core i5-5200u CPU...
I can't compare the laptops as the second link doesn't show anything. The first laptop is very low end and will barely be able to do much multi tasking. My suggestion is to go with a chromebook as they should be the best deal for people that just need a laptop that will do the basics well.

It comes with a Core i5-5200u CPU which has the integrated Intel HD 5500 graphics core. It will be decent enough to play some games that are not graphically demand on low or medium settings with reasonable performance.

To get an idea of how the Intel HD 5500 can handle games click on the following link to SurfaceProGamer's Youtube channel which basically demonstrate games being played on a Surface Pro 2 with the slightly older and slower Intel HD 4400 graphics core.
