Desktop drives. Which will preform best. Cost does not matter between the two. First an Intel 870 4gb Ram 250 HDD. Or a seagate 6gbs Ram and 500 HDD.

Solution
The Intel one is not a HDD as such - that stands for Hard Disk Drive. That type of disk spins around 7,200 rpm but the Intel one you're referring to is a Solid State Drive - SSD - and they don't spin at all.

All that makes me wonder if you're comparing two totally different drives. The SSD is good for your operating system and that would fit on a smaller capacity than 250GB.

The faster SATA speed you quote for the Seagate disk doesn't compensate for the much faster operation of a Solid State Drive but you lose some of that speed if your data are stored on a HDD.

What it comes down to is how much data do you have on your existing drive?
