Which is better? Dell Inspiron 15 5000 UHD graphics or Hp 17.3 AMD radeon 530 graphics. I found these 2 computers at costco and the HP is about 50.00 more. I need advice on which is the better computer

You actually have many options with a $850 budget. One thing I should mention is that there seems to be a somewhat recent trend where most laptops that do not have a 4k resolution screen are somewhat dim. Brightness is measure in "nits" with most laptops that costs less than $1,000 with 1080p resolution screen or lower usually have screen brightness between 250 nits and 300 nits. That is good enough for indoor usage, but could be an issue when used outdoors on a bright day even if the screen has a matte / anti-glare finish.

Within that budget you can buy a laptop with up to a GTX 1050 Ti graphics chip (GPU) which is currently considered to be a pretty good gaming GPU. Certainly not the best, but definitely better than a "mainstream"...

I really don't want to spend more than 850.00. I did see a Dell at Best Buy for 1,250 that has a 4K resolution that is very nice but a bit much. What computer do you recommend for 850 with a great processor, descent memory and storage and good resolution. I use it mostly for work and everyday things. I play some games but not a whole lot

Within that budget you can buy a laptop with up to a GTX 1050 Ti graphics chip (GPU) which is currently considered to be a pretty good gaming GPU. Certainly not the best, but definitely better than a "mainstream" GPU like the mx150... Though if the mx150 was released in 2016 it would have been considered as an entry level "gaming" GPU. Keep in mind that many laptop with a GTX 1050 or the more powerful GTX 1050 Ti GPU may look like a gaming laptop rather than a business laptop, so bringing such a laptop to work may seem out of place.

Below are links to some laptops you may want to consider which are not too flashy unless otherwise stated they all have the quad core i5-7300HQ CPU, 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM which is sufficient for most people. But it can be upgraded later if necessary.

Dell Inspiron 7567 - $739 - GTX 1050 Ti

Dell Inspiron i5577-5335BLK-PUS - $650 - GTX 1050

ASUS M580VD-EB54 VivoBook - $900 - GTX 1050

More elegant looking and rather light weight at 5.1lbs for a gaming laptop, but you do pay a premium for both of these features.

ASUS VivoBook S - $840 - 8th generation i7-8550u CPU, 256GB SSD + 1TB hard drive, mx150 GPU

Similar to the above Asus Vivobook, but this laptop has a newer generation Intel CPU, though it is not as powerful as the i5-7300HQ CPU in the other laptops. That is because the i7-8550u is a "low power consumption " CPU so the clockspeed of CPU will not be running at 4.0GHz the vast majority of the time. I am guessing most of the time it will maintain a clockspeed of 2.8GHz to 3.0GHz when the CPU is being stressed to keep power consumption and heat relatively low. The mx 150 GPU is a mainstream dedicated GPU. It can be used to run games, but it will not perform as well as the GTX 1050 or GTX 1050 Ti.

It's major selling point and the reason for a relatively high price is this laptop weighs in at 3.7lbs making much more easier to carry around then the 5lbs+ / 6lbs+ of the other laptops.

Lenovo Legion Y530 - $750 (but it can be configured to your liking) - 8th generation i5-8300H CPU, 1TB Hard Drive, GTX 1050

Removing the hard drive and opting for the 256GB SSD will increase the price to $850

Click the TinyURL link below to see some game benchmark comparisons between the mx150, GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti. If you don't really play any graphically demanding games, then perhaps the mx150 is sufficient for your needs. What games do you sometimes play?

If you are really budget conscious and just want the best bang for the buck, then perhaps the following $570 Acer laptop with a quad core i5-8250u CPU and mx150 dedicated GPU will suit your needs. Assuming the mx150 will be fine for your gaming needs.

Like the i7-8550u CPU in the Asus Vivobook laptop, the i5-8250u is a "low power consumption" CPU. While the maximum clockspeed is 3.4GHz, reviews have stated the i5-8250u will generally hover at around 2.5GHz or 2.6GHz to maintain low power consumption and reduced heat output. That will be more than sufficient for everyday use and will be fine for playing games.
