I'm trying to get a decent gaming laptop, and I'm looking at a Gigabyte P2542G-CF3 and an Acer V3-772G-9829. The main differences between the two seem to be as follows:

Acer has a bigger HDD
Gigabyte has a slightly faster processor
Acer has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 4gb DDR3
Gigabyte has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 2gb GDDR5

I would say neither. The Gigabyte system is out of stock, and the Acer is over priced for what you get.

Try one of these Lenovo laptops. You can order any of them on Amazon I think or just straight from Lenovo. It has an equal processor to the Acer, and the same graphics card but with 2GB GDDR5. Should perform better than the 660M.

And btw the Acer actually had a better processor than the Gygabyte. The Acer has a Haswell processor and the Gigabyte had an Ivy Bridge processor. Haswell is 10% faster at the same clock speed. so 24/22 = in clock speed the Gigabyte performed 9% better in sheer clock speed, so they are practically the same performance, but the Haswell uses half the power.

Thanks for input. I actually started looking at some Lenovo laptops after I posted this, and I do agree they look better.
