Which laptop is better?

I will be replacing a couple 15" sandy-bridge era notebooks for field work latter this year.
I have decided that a smaller more portable laptop would be better for day to day activities but am torn between a 2-in-1 style and a convertible style notebook.

I was hoping to get opinions of pros that have used one or both for field work about what they preferred. I have weighed the pros cons between the portability of the 2in1 vs the convertible having more (and full size) ports, but I would really like some feedback from people with first hand experience about how these form factors work for them.

The real advantage of the convertable is its keyboard. They tend to be better than the 2 in ones as most of them have very shallow key travel. I personally would choose a convertable over a 2 in one as they also tend to be more powerful than the 2 in 1s as most 2 in 1s are made to be tablets first and then laptops.
