which laptop should i buy?

I am getting a laptop for my father for christmas for watching movies, document typing. googling etc. I have narrowed my decision to two laptops and here are the runnings:

Lenovo G50-45 Laptop, AMD A8, 8GB RAM, 1TB, 15.6", Black £299.95
or
Acer Aspire ES1-731 £299.97

which laptop would be the best choice try to factor in build quality, ergonomics and looks.

The lenovo is almost the same G50 I'm looking at for my GFs father (with a focus on MS Office and light browsing and email). Im not sure the difference in battery life or how the CPUs would differ, but the Lenovo seems to weigh almost half as much as the Acer.
