Which laptop should I get for gaming?

So, I cannot decide which laptop I should get. I do not want it to be too expensive or too weak.

I was looking at some laptops and I found a couple options that seemed kind of decent.

Asus ROG Strix GL702VM-DB74 17.3" and Acer Predator Helios 300. Now, Asus costs about $1500, while Acer is around $1050 on Amazon. They have the same GPU, RAM, and Acer has slightly better processor - I7-7700 HQ, while Asus has I7-6700HQ. Also size, Acer is 15.7" and Asus is 17.3"; probably that is why there is a difference in price. But in my case 15.7" is good enough.

So, if I had to choose between these two, which one should I get? Or, are there any other options around the same price (let's say... $1300)?

if you are concern about the price then acer is the way to go.however i am not sure on how the cooling is as i have an older predator 17 with a gtx 980m and the cooling is not that great.i have to undervolt the cpu or disable turbo boost to keep it from reaching 90c and staying around 70c ish.right now the latest model i have from acer is the v17 BE vn7-793 with the tobii eye tracking and gtx 1060 6gb.and to non of my surprise the temp still reach 90c and above for cpu.asked for a replacement unit and it does not fair any better.so turbo boost needs to be turn off again so it can run cooler.however the cpu is still strong enough even without boost and the price is pretty cheap.

yeah i did and nothing change.i had tonnes of laptop and by far acers gaming notebook have one of the worst cooling especially the vnitro line up(i had plenty of this vnitro from the 1st one with the gtx 860m up to the new model).so yeah only way is to disable turbo boost or undervolt.i had asus.msi.alienware.clevo and none of them have issue with cooling even on factory paste.so yeah acer gaming lineup is pretty good when it come to spec-price ratio but i believe they still need to improve their cooling solution.i am waiting to see how the new helios performs.

I'm thinking to buy a vn7-593g but I would like to repaste cpu/gpu

you can do so but trust me the best it would shave is around 2-3c XD.i do games sometime with the turbo boost on and cpu can max between 90-95c before throttling down and gpu tend to hit high 80s.for long gaming session i tend to turn off cpu turbo boost to keep temps at bay.btw mine is the 17 inch model with the tobii eye tracking thingy.

While searching some info on Acer, it was mentioned that it actually has nice cooling. I think around 70c average... It seems to be extremely good for the price range.
