Im from Malaysia. Im look for a good laptop. I be using this laptop mostly for study and programming.
Maybe lil bit of basic gaming like Infinity wars, FTL, chess or other mini games and pixelated games etc etc and movies.
I dont know which one to choose.

Here are the laptop :

Acer Aspire F5-573G-57VD Laptop

610$ (RM2500)
I5-6200U-2.3GHz
4GB DDR4 RAM,
128GB SSD + 1TB SATA HDD
NVIDIA® GeForce® 940MX
15.6 inch 1920x1080
Warranty One Year
Obsidian Black Colour (Normal)

Or

Acer Aspire E5-575G-55Z3 Laptop

560$ (RM2300)
i5-7200U-2.5GHz
4GB DDR4 RAM
1TB SATA HDD
NVIDIA® GeForce® 940MX
15.6 inch 1920x1080
Warranty 3 Years
Indigo Blue Colour (Good looking)

Im torn between this two,

The E15 series have a 3 years warranty ,Nice colour and much cheaper. Also have i5 7th gen but i know the i5 7th gen isnt much different than i5 6th gen.

The F15 series have a 128gb ssd which seem great.

Which one should i pick?
Or if any of you guys can recommend me other almost same spec laptop that is available in malaysia

My maximum budget is really only rm2500 (610$)

Please help me thank you

video graphics are the worst enemy for all laptops. they go out of date quickly.
So if your not going to play video game religious or run high end apps.. u should be okay.

I encourage you to read the "reviews" on your 3 selection

I have found Acer Aspire E5-475G-50N0
Specs :

Maybe the less resolution and small laptop would make the battery more saving and much more portable
and lighter

Intel® Core™ i5-7200U-2.5GHz
4GB DDR4 RAM
1TB SATA HDD+128GB SSD
NVIDIA® GeForce® 940MX 4gb of dedicated Ram
14 inch 1366x766
Warranty 3 years
Obsidian Black Colour (Normal)
Around 586$(rm2400)

The price is right in between but no blue colour sadly. Everything has it con and pros
Do you guys think the resolution would be okay? 1366x766 on 14 inch

Codelizard_1,

Don't let the fancy/appearances of a laptop trick you into buy it.
Stick with your budget & performances of the laptop.
Ergonomics.. is important too!
-Do you want to haul around a 17 in laptop?
-Do you want to haul around a 50 pound laptop?
-Do you want a full size keyboard layout?
-Transport Bags, Backpacks, Hand bags are there any that will accommodate your laptop?

Hardware?
-Do you want room upgrade parts in the future?
-How easy it to remove parts and access panels?
-Is the laptop a “BUILT AS IS”, no room for upgrades?

Your two choices.. I would go with the Acer Aspire E5-575G-55Z3 L, because of the price and do upgrades in the later future.

Keep in mind.. laptops has a very short lift span, in terms of technology changes. Plus, laptop also has to compete cell phones, tablets, and other mobile devices.

Yup im not letting them look trick me. Will try to stick with my budget
Im just looking for portable, battery saving and kinda lightweight, i dont mind much about keyboard. I also have a desktop
I just noticed the shop im going to buy doesnt say anything about the free gift. I dont mind much since i have other bags.
but when i go there i would ask them about any gifts

The only things i see for upgrade parts is ram, i ask them about extra storage slot for sdd and it not available. they sell it on other models, hence comparison
Not sure about remove part and access panels tho, i also scare it can void the warranty if i do it
i guess most of them are pre build

out of all the laptop around this price range, i only see acer being the most valuable and worthwhile

I think im going for Acer Aspire E5-475G-50N0 since i can use the spare money to upgrade it ram i guess and the only disadvantage is the screen resolution itLower than my phone, but then agian it can be advantage for battery saving i guess? also another 2gb extra for the 940mx. 4gb of dedicated graphic card and 3 year of warranty seem greatly beneficial

Do you think the Acer Aspire E5-475G-50N0 can survive in the next 4-5 years

probably im a bit late lol, but i would preffer acer e5-575g, as now i have e5-475g which is really impressive by how cheap the price for what i get, but my main problem is the ram is not enough for me as sometimes i like to do multitasking so the ram usage could go around 50%(from 4gb) so i recommend you to get the 8gb ram version if you needed it, i preffer the acer e5 because it have a kaby lake i5 which have better turbo boost clock and newer, for me ssd is not a big deal as you could add it by yourself. however acer laptop is pretty durable(with normal usage), as my daily laptop before (acer 4752G) could long last around 4 years before i replace it with my current e5-475g laptop. but the main problem of using laptop for long term is the software usually
