which one is best in overall performance( HP pavilion 17t , intel core i7-7700HQ quad core processor, 3.8 GHz intel, 16GB DDR4 RAM, screen size 17.3 inches, 1TB 7200rpm HDD + 128GB SSD, NVIDIA GTX 1050 4GB, window 10, 1080p full HD touchscreen,) or (Lenovo Ideapad 700 - 17.3" FHD Laptop (Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 128 GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GT940M, Windows 10) 80RV002UUS)

Solution

The GTX 1050 in the Pavilion will blow the doors off the 940M in the Lenovo. The CPU in the Lenovo is probably the i7-6700HQ. Close enough in capability to the i7-7700HQ (within 10-15%) in the Pavilion so as not to make a huge difference. So the Pavilion would be the better performer due to the far superior GPU, not the Lenovo.

If the choice is based on build quality only, the Lenovo may very well be the better choice (I don't really know).
